Moreland University joined the U.S. Department of Education and ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) to sign the EPP Pledge for Digital Equity and Transformation. This pledge is a vision for transforming educator preparation providers (EPPs) to meet the needs of today’s schools. Signing the pledge signals that Moreland shares this vision and embraces taking action and being innovative to achieve the vision of digital equity and transformation.

Moreland University already has a rich history of preparing teachers to thrive in digital learning environments and to integrate technology effectively into high quality instruction.  Signing this pledge was a natural alignment to Moreland’s Mission of teaching teachers around the world to be resourceful problem solvers and tech-savvy educators through an online, collaborative, activity-based learning system designed for tomorrow’s students in a dynamic and diverse world.

The U.S. Department of Education and ISTE co-developed the pledge. This pledge provides access to member network meetings which are facilitated discussions with all EPP signers to address strategies, challenges, and opportunities for teacher preparation at the National level.  Moreland will also conduct a self-analysis of our programs against the principles of the pledge and the ISTE Standards (accepted by all 50 states). We will set priorities and take advantage of support resources available from the pledge partners to uphold the principles of digital equity and transformation.
