Yemi Lawanson joined the TEACH-NOW/Moreland University community in 2020, bringing with her more than 30 years of experience in education. Throughout her career in the K–12 school system, she has served as a teacher, instructional leader, and mentor — deeply committed to fostering growth in both students and fellow educators.
Over the past 19 years, Dr. Lawanson has focused on supporting teachers and educational leaders, mentoring individuals from adolescence through adulthood, and coaching professionals in their personal and career development. Her work emphasizes building strong pedagogical foundations and cultivating leadership at every level.
At Moreland University, she continues to leverage her expertise in teaching and instruction to strengthen candidates’ teaching practice and build instructional capacity.
She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and is passionate about empowering educators to lead with purpose and impact.
