Create positive learning environments and enhance student motivation and creativity in grades PreK through 3. Explore the stages of development and how to differentiate and set goals for diverse students.

Analyze and evaluate educational research, including methodology and ethics. Design and carry out a research project of your own.

Integrate technology into curriculum, coaching, and teaching practice. Develop a strong foundation of technology tools and strategies and create a school- or district-wide technology improvement plan.

Examine the impact of globalization in education. Conduct a research project related to multilingualism, international mindedness, or global education.

Explore educational theories and best practices in special education. Understand the laws and policies that govern special education services and plan instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Assess the diverse needs of language learners and learn and apply best practices for instruction and support. Teach through a lens of socio-cultural competence.

Admission Requirements for M.Ed. Add-On
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Min. 3.0 baccalaureate GPA (with exceptions based on experience/references)
- English language proficiency
- Government-issued photo ID
- Brief writing sample
- Transcript evaluation (for baccalaureate degrees from outside the U.S.)
- Successful completion of the TEACH-NOW program

Who qualifies for the M.Ed. Add-On program?
The M.Ed. Add-On is exclusively for graduates of our TEACH-NOW Teacher Preparation Certificate Program. Once you complete the TEACH-NOW program, you have the option to add on a master’s degree in just 3 additional months. Even if you completed the TEACH-NOW program months or years ago, you remain eligible to participate in the M.Ed. Add-On program.
For candidates who know upfront they want to earn a master’s degree with their teaching certificate, we also offer a 12-month Master’s in Education with Teaching Credential.

Do I have to finish the TEACH-NOW program before I apply for the add-on?
No! If you’re a current TEACH-NOW candidate, you can apply for the add-on at any time. You can follow the typical application process, or you can apply in the TEACH-NOW platform. Just click the button in the bottom-left corner that says “Apply to MED.”
